Greetings Sorors, Community Partners, and Friends,
It is my honor and privilege to serve as President of the Newport News Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. With nearly 200 committed members, NNAC stands firmly rooted in a legacy of sisterhood, scholarship, service, and social action that has strengthened the Newport News community for generations.
Our biennial theme, “Renewed Joy. Stronger Sisterhood. Greater Impact — NNAC Moving Forward Into 90 Years,” reflects our commitment to restoring our joy, deepening our bonds, and expanding our reach as we approach this historic milestone. Guided by National and Regional priorities, we remain focused on advancing programs that uplift families, empower youth, promote educational excellence, and advocate for social justice.
Newport News carries a rich and powerful history—one shaped by communities whose resilience, craftsmanship, leadership, and cultural pride helped define this region. From the early neighborhoods along the James River to the generations of shipbuilders, educators, faith leaders, and civic visionaries who poured their gifts into this city, Newport News has long been a place where determination and progress walk hand in hand. NNAC is proud to serve a community whose heritage continues to inspire new pathways of leadership, innovation, and service.
As we move forward into our 90th year, we do so with renewed joy, stronger sisterhood, and a commitment to greater impact. And to any member of Delta Sigma Theta seeking connection, community, and a chapter to call home, I extend a personal invitation: Come visit us. Spend time with us. Allow us to welcome you into a space where your presence matters and your gifts can flourish. Whether you are new to the area, returning to active membership, or simply looking for a place to reconnect, NNAC is ready to embrace you with open arms and genuine sisterly love.
Please explore our website, engage with our programs, and partner with us as we continue to serve the Newport News community with excellence.
In Service and Sisterhood,
Kimberly D. Brothers
