Welcome to the official site of the Newport News Alumnae Chapter Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.  It is my honor to serve as the 34th President of the Newport News Alumnae Chapter, chartered on October 26, 1937. Newport News Alumnae is a wonderful chapter of 175 dedicated members that continues to be of service and support to the residents of the city of Newport News and surrounding communities. 

The chapter continues to strive to provide Sisterhood, Scholarship, Service and Social Action and continue to uphold the ideals of our 22 illustrious Founders.  We provide service to the community through our Five-Point Programmatic Thrust in the areas of:

• Economic Development
• Educational Awareness
• International Awareness and Involvement
• Physical and Mental Health
• Political Awareness and Involvement

Annually we grant scholarships to a graduating senior at each of the high schools in Newport News Public Schools to help further their education at a college or university.  We are also excited about our work with our youth initiative programs for middle and high school students to encourage their academic achievement.   We partner with local organizations to include the St. Augustine Feeding Program as well as continue to participate in voter registration drives and help raise money for health initiatives to include St. Jude’s Research.
