Virginia November Election: Gubernatorial Debate

Virginia Social Action – Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is proud to serve as the community partner in a historic collaboration with Norfolk State University and Nexstar Media Group for a landmark gubernatorial debate featuring Lieutenant Governor Winsome Earle-Sears and former Congresswoman Abigail Spanberger.

This is the first time Norfolk State University has partnered with a Divine Nine organization to host a debate of this scale. The event, deeply rooted in the shared values of higher education, civic education, and civic engagement, will take place on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at 7:00 PM at the L. Douglas Wilder Performing Arts Center on the Norfolk State campus. As the only gubernatorial debate scheduled between these candidates for the 2025 election cycle, it is expected to reach over 4 million households through Nexstar Media Group’s broadcast network.
